Meridian Street Bridge

This old small bridge links East Boston to Chelsea. By an old Mobil Gas Station sits an abandoned boat graveyard where old vessels of varying sizes sit, slowly proceeding on their way to ruin as they wait for the bids of salvagers. Stepping through the overgrowth and under the bridge reveals a hollow where a small delta meets the water. Underneath the bridge this bizarre bit of land is covered in trash like some strange post-modernist beach landing.

In the center of the garbage beach under the bridge’s shadow is a door marked “AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY” leading back into the land mass. It is an abandoned maintenance/shelter area under the bridge, accessible to any who spend time there and familiar to any of the locals who might have partied under the bridge to avoid police scrutiny.
